Frequently
Asked Questions
In this section,
we give you compact answers to the most common questions
that you are likely to encounter when you counsel
with Multiple Natures.
Why
is it important to understand one's Multiple Natures?
According
to Rudolph, it is important to understand your MNs
because doing so will enable you to achieve greater
success in everything that you do—from academic
performance in school, to extracurricular activities,
to choosing the right career, and performing well
in one’s job. By understanding the unique
composition of your Multiple Natures, you will clearly
understand the tools you have to work with, and
how you can put them to use in each and every situation.
How
early can one start understanding our Natures?
At
Jiva Public School, where Rudolph is the Educational
Director, he begins introducing children to the
concepts of Multiple Natures and Multiple Intelligences
as early as Class I—in an age appropriate
way. Throughout their course of study over 12 years,
they are encouraged to engage each of the Natures
in their academic as well as extracurricular classes.
For instance, children with strong Educative Natures
are encouraged to assist classmates who are having
trouble with their classwork; those with powerful
Protective Natures are assigned as monitors on the
playing ground; when it comes time to organize fundraising
functions, the Entrepreneurial are called on to
come forward, and so on.
What
does the Multiple Natures test do for you?
The
MN Test helps people take the right decisions about
their academic and professional lives—which
stream to choose, which college to apply to, which
career to aim for. And for people who are already
employed, it helps them leverage their strengths
better at work, and even decide if and how they
should make a job change. The test is essentially
helping people position themselves to their advantage
in every situation they face.
What
is the format of the test?
The
test consists of 76 self-rating questions that can
be completed in about 30 minutes. Each question
relates to the different dimensions of Multiple
Intelligences and Multiple Natures. The test can
be done online directly on the Multiple Natures
website, or on paper if being conducted in institutes
with large numbers of students. On the basis of
the answers, the MN search engine creates a unique
profile for the individual. It then searches its
database of hundreds of jobs and identifies jobs
that contain similar profiles.
For
students looking for a college/school after school
boards/graduation, how will the test help?
For
school students, the MN Test helps school them make
the right decisions about their streams, careers,
and colleges. For college and graduate students,
it helps them decide if they should go on for higher
studies, and if so, which type of courses to take.
Does
every individual have all the Natures? Is it possible
for different Natures to predominate on different
days?
According
to Rudolph, every individual has all nine Natures
to different degrees of strength - some will be
very strong and some weak. They are affected by
your environment, and it is possible, in certain
cases, some will manifest themselves more strongly
than others. Natures are sometimes governed by Intelligences.
It’s not possible for different
Natures to dominate on different days. Natures are
like habits; they are an inherent part of your existence.
In the majority of circumstances that you encounter,
your basic Nature will be predominant. That’s
why the concept refers to it as Nature, because
Nature is what you are.
What
is the relationship between MI and MN? Can they
exist in isolation?
MI
and MN cannot exist in isolation; they are largely
exclusive of each other. They are two different
things – Intelligences are abilities and Natures
are tendencies. Intelligences tell you how you are
intelligent or able; Natures tell you how you use
your intelligence.
Let’s say, for example, you
have a strong Linguistic Intelligence and a Protective
Nature. In such a case, you will use your language
to protect people or environment. And, on the other
hand, if you have a strong Bodily Intelligence and
a strong Protective Nature, you will use your physical
ability to protect people, may be by getting into
law enforcement or the military.
So, they are separate and unique
from each other, but when you combine them together,
they create different ways in which you could apply
those Intelligences.
What
impact does the MI-MN combination have on students
and classroom learning?
The
MI-MN combination has prompted teachers, students
and parents to think critically about their kids.
They have started thinking more deeply about how
their children are unique. And, that is so valuable
because if you want to assist children, kids themselves
need to be introspective; parents too need to understand
their children.
Teachers
can utilize these concepts to devise an array of
interesting activities for their classroom and teach
students creatively. It will help them establish
a stronger connect in their class and get learners
interested in what they are teaching.
