Made-to-order
MN Reports
for Business Students in Bangalore
Business
students at the IFIM Business School, Bangalore, recently
got the opportunity to get up, close and personal with the
Multiple Natures concept. Jiva Education had organized Steven
Rudolph’s two-day workshop for about 50 students and
40 members of the IFIM faculty. During the workshop, Steve
highlighted the use of Multiple Natures as a tool to clearly
understand how innate abilities combine in myriad ways,
and how these combinations map to specific careers.
During one of the sessions, the students took the Multiple
Natures Test to help choose the right professional path
as they step into the corporate world. Jiva has created
made-to-order MN reports for the students, comprising career
options only from the fields of business and commerce. Because
these students are already in college and have chosen their
respective streams, our reports aimed at helping them analyze
their unique abilities and channelize their energies on
career fields that best match their nature. The MN jobs
database consists of career choices – Knowledge Management
Associate, Brand Manager, Business Transformation Consultant,
Solution Architect, Project Manager, etc. – that are
aptly suited to the ever-changing requirements of the modern
corporate world. The customized report also gives average
starting salary ranges for each recommended job, so that
students can keep the financial aspect in mind before making
their choice, as well as a list of top companies that recruit
people from particular career fields.

AIF explores Multiple Natures as a Professional Tool
The
American India Foundation recently organized Steven Rudolph’s
two-day workshop on ‘MN for Educational Leaders’
for its Digital Equalizer Program team. A renowned educator
and author, Steve facilitated the workshop by highlighting
his path-breaking Multiple Natures framework as a personal
tool for professional development.
According
to the MN concept, professionals in any field of work can
realize their potential and sustain peak performance by
applying one simple principle: to follow their nature. It
is a novel approach to organizational motivation wherein
companies can identify an employee’s real passion
and give him a job that suits his nature. Getting the ‘right
people in the right job’ automatically leads to increased
levels of productivity and team work in an organization.
Using
techniques of simulation and self-analysis, along with real
case studies, Steve made the participants understand how
their Multiple Intelligences and Multiple Natures matched
with their work. By understanding the unique composition
of their natures, they were able to clearly identify the
tools they have to work with, and how they can put them
to use in each and every situation — meeting deadlines,
working effectively in groups, delegating responsibility,
and so on. Steve also recommended a plethora of techniques
to help them deal with their shortcomings.
By
the end of the workshop, the participants were able to understand
why they were attracted to certain types of work, and why
they performed poorly in other types of activities, and
how they can change their own working style or environment
to maintain their highest level of efficiency and effectiveness.
The
workshop participants comprised an eclectic mix of professionals
– trainers, program coordinators, management executives
and educators – associated with the American India
Foundation. They came from six different zones, namely Tamil
Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Orissa, Punjab and New
Delhi, and are all geared up to take the concept of Multiple
Natures back to their colleagues and educational administrators
across their zones.
Mr.
J. Sundarakrishnan, Director of the Digital Equalizer (DE)
Program, feels the AIF team had a wonderful experience during
the workshop. “The team benefited from the workshop.
The customization made for the DE team was really helpful.
I could see that they were not just engaged, but were internalizing
the key wordsfor correlating the experiences in their own
way,” he said.
Steven
Rudolph, on his part, was quite content with the outcome
of the event, “I have to thank the DE team, especially
Mr. Sundarakrishnan, for realizing the benefits of Multiple
Natures. We had an interesting bunch of participants who
were deeply intrigued by the MN concept and eager to apply
it to their daily work life. I am confident doing so will
enable them to make greater strides in their professional
lives.”
Multiple
Natures takes Shimla Principals by Storm
Jiva Education
recently organized Steven Rudolph’s Multiple Natures
Workshop or principals in Shimla. Hosted by DAV Public School,
New Shimla, the event was attended by over 15 educational
leaders in the region.

During
the session, Steve highlighted the importance of having
the ‘right teacher in the right job’. He urged
principals to carefully assess the teachers at their schools
and then assign roles and responsibilities according to
their inherent abilities and strengths. For instance, those
teachers strong in Naturalistic Intelligence should be provided
opportunities to develop the school garden; the teachers
who exhibit a strong Providing Nature should take part in
the hospitality activities, and so on. According
to Steve, this practice is sure to bring about a sea change
in the attitude of teachers, fostering a renewed sense of
commitment and engagement in the school community. Moreover,
by identifying the natures of their existing teachers, schools
can tap the potential of their existing human resources
and begin guiding children in the right direction.
Some
of the schools that participated in the event included the
DAV Schools from Shoghi, Alampur, Dharamshala, Kangra and
Sanjauli, among others, as well as Mahatma Hansraj Public
School, Panchkula. The principals were impressed with the
MN framework and many of them are keen to implement the
test in their schools. Ms. P. Sofat, Principal of DAV Public
School, New Shimla, said,
“Teachers and all the principals who attended the
session are hugely appreciative of Mr. Steven’s passion
to guide the students in making the right choice for a career.
The MN program would certainly be a guiding factor for these
youngsters under stress.”
Jiva
ties up with SOS to take MN to Indian Villages
Jiva
Education has tied up with non-profit organization, SOS
Children’s Villages of India, to conduct the Multiple
Natures Test in 14 villages across the country. Through
the initiative, the organizations will attempt to analyze
the personality profiles of over 300 children studying in
Classes 8-12 and belonging to the downtrodden sections of
the society. The test will help identify the best means
of engaging their special abilities and deciding on the
vocations that best suit their profile. Knowing each child’s
career direction will aid SOS in creating the right learning
path that will ultimately help them achieve success in their
lives.
Speaking
about the development, Jiva Education Director and creator
of the Multiple Natures Test, Steven Rudolph, said, “We
feel privileged to be associated with an organization like
SOS that is doing so much for the Indian society. There
are numerous underprivileged kids in the country who feel
‘lost’ because they don’t have the right
guidance and direction in life. I am sure the MN Test can
lay the perfect ground to carve a better future for these
kids.”
The
initiative recently kicked off with the Multiple Natures
Test being organized in Bheemunipatnam, a village near the
city of Vizag in Andhra Pradesh. About 100 students took
the test to discover their real potential and become more
productive and successful in their lives.
Jiva-TOI
Association kicks off with Workshop in Kolkata
Jiva Education,
in association with The Times of India, recently organized
a principal’s meet on “Follow Your Nature”
at Hotel Hindustan International, Kolkata. The event also
marked the beginning of the collaboration between the two
organizations.
Most
Indian youngsters have difficulty in finding a quick, easy
and effective solution to the one problem that is so fundamental
to their success—choosing the right careers. Through
this collaboration, Jiva will work towards helping students
find their ideal careers using the Multiple Natures (MN)
Test, developed by Steven Rudolph, Jiva’s Educational
Director.
During
the workshop, Rudolph highlighted the MN framework, which
serves as a practical means for teachers and parents to
recognize a learner’s unique strengths and consequently
suggest careers that are best suited to his abilities. “I
am elated that the MN framework has been lauded by many
in just two years of its existence. I hope the pedagogue
sorority of Kolkata will also appreciate the concept of
MN which will help them make their students choose the right
career,” said Rudolph.
The
workshop was graced by a host of principals and teachers
from some of the best schools of Kolkata, like South-City
International School, Calcutta International School and
Assembly Of God Church School, among others. The educators
were highly impressed by the framework and the career solutions
it presented. “The whole seminar was worth treasuring.
Rudolph and his impeccable way of explaining things made
it such an enriching experience,” said Kieth Mandrelle
of South-City International School. Partha Kar from St.
Lawrence School was beaming at the end of the event. “The
whole process of the MN Test is very intriguing, and with
the effects that was shown during the seminar, I think many
schools and educational institutes will take a deeper look
into the wonder-test created by Steven,” he said.

Jiva
Sanskar Mela A Big Hit with Parents and Students
The
Sanskar Mela organised at Jiva Public School on the occasion
of Children’s Day was a big hit with students, parents,
and other visitors. More than 2000 people came out for a
day of fun and frolic and to explore themselves. There were
dozens of game booths, each of which was connected to the
concepts of Multiple Natures and Multiple Intelligences.
One
unique feature about the event was how it was organized
and run. The students and teachers were assigned duties
based on their MIs and MNs, which were mentioned on their
badges. The students in the Customer Service Team were ones
strong in Providing Nature; the Event Management Team was
made up of students who have strong Administrative Natures.
And, the students at the Ticket Counter? Well, Entrepreneurial
Nature of course!

All
in all, the event was an excellent way to demonstrate how
natures connect to work and to jobs. And the results were
clear: the event ran like clockwork. Everything was well
organized, there were no squabbles, and there was no litter
to be found anywhere.
When
people’s natures and energies are properly channelized,
you wind up with a winning atmosphere. We hope more schools
adopt the MN concept for organizing their events and see
the difference it can makes to people’s mindsets and
working styles.

by a group of ten French students, who had come here for an
Ayurvedic course. During his meeting with them, Steven Rudolph
got them up, close and personal with his Multiple Natures
concept. They were highly impressed by the concept and believed
it could be highly valuable for them and their children. In
fact, they even invited Steve to visit France and train teachers
on the concept.

Steve
takes Multiple Natures to EduExcellence
Steven Rudolph recently
presented a paper on ‘Using Multiple Natures to Identify
and Nurture Talent’ at the International Conference
on Excellence in School Education at IIT Delhi. The talk focused
on the critical task of helping every child understand his
unique nature, and how to make education work for the child
and not vice versa. He oriented the audience with the Multiple
Natures framework as a means of identifying the unique abilities
in each student.
He
began his speech by underlining the importance of understanding
talent. Most children look up to celebrities as role models
and emulate them because, for them, these people exemplify
talent. Most people are confused about talent; they believe
celebrities either have god-given skills or have a very good
kismet.
Steve
categorically opposed this misconception and presented this
definition of talent:
Ability + Skill = Talent
Skill refers to a specific activity that requires a particular
ability. For instance, Bodily Intelligence is an ability (the
raw strength of this ability - the potential - is determined
genetically). Batting in cricket is a skill. Playing football
is also a skill. An individual might develop a skill for either
one - or both - but that will depend on how he engages his
ability. Skills are strengthened through practice.
Talent
occurs when a strong ability meets with a strong skill. Thus,
if someone has strong Visual Intelligence, and practices the
skill of oil painting with great effort, she will become a
talented painter.
An
individual cannot be referred to as being talented merely
on the basis of his raw abilities. In such cases, we can say
that individual has ‘potential’. But we can call
him talented with respect to a particular activity - e.g.,
she’s a talented dancer or talented writer. We wouldn’t
say he’s talented with his body or talented with his
language ability. It must be in context to a skill.
In
the end, Steve reiterated the need for parents and teachers
to identify each child’s real ability and sharpen his
skills. This will help nurture his talent and make him a successful
individual.

world, lest their knowledge become obsolete. “Today’s
students are quite well-informed, thanks to the Internet and
other easily-available sources of information. In such a scenario,
the role of teachers should be focused on helping children
identify their strengths and weaknesses, and personalise their
experience of classroom learning,” Mr. Rudolph said.
The
awards ceremony was jointly organised by four renowned educational
institutions of the state - School Kids Care, Sandipani School,
Shivkunj Academy, and Akshar Sansar. The event was attended
